The three steps to Wise Choice Speech Therapy
Our three-step process was created with both the child and parent in mind. By starting off with an initial evaluation we can quickly identify the areas of concern that you are noticing with your child and put a plan together to target those treatment goals. Since each of our treatment plans are customized to fit the patient, you will be involved every step of the way. As we make progress there will be constant communication on the next steps in the treatment plan.
Step 1.
Evaluate to determine your child's strengths and potential areas for improvement
Step 2.
Develop & customize a treatment plan with specific, measurable, and attainable communication goals
Step 3.
Execute plan together to see results!
Step 1: schedule an evaluation
Evaluations may consist of formal, standardized tests as well as informal assessments. The types of assessments we use depend on each individual client. Testing may include the use of pictures, objects, toys, and talking to assess your child's communication skills during play.
After the evaluation, we will write a comprehensive report to include test results, personalized goals, and recommendations for the frequency (number of days per week) of each session. The therapist will review the evaluation report with you and go over any questions or concerns you may have. You will be given a copy of the report for your records.
Step 2: develop a customized plan
Every child is unique, and their therapy plans, and sessions should reflect that. Customized therapy programs are developed to include specific, measurable, and attainable goals for each child based on the results of the evaluation.
